Graham and Dawn Thomson helped plant Spen Valley Church, in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, in September 2017. Graham was the founding Pastor, and Dawn was employed as the Women’s and Outreach Worker in September 2018. They have one son, Jude.

Cleckheaton is a small, post-industrial town, with a population of around 17,000. It sits at the end of the Spen Valley, which includes the similarly sized towns of Liversedge and Heckmondwike, and is home to around 50,000 people. Before Spen Valley Church was planted there had not been an outward looking gospel church in the Spen Valley for many decades.

Spen Valley Church is a small church plant, seeking to reach the people of Cleckheaton and the Spen Valley with the good news of Jesus. They have real opportunities to share the gospel in their community, with many people being open to speaking about the Lord Jesus.
