When you come to Oldham Bethel Church you can expect:
- Teaching from part of the Bible (most of our service – including sermons and readings – are simultaneously translated into Farsi via headsets).
- A time of singing as part of our worship to God and encouragement of one another.
- A time of open prayer during which any believer may pray, thanking God for all he has done for us and asking him to meet various needs.
- A time of communion remembering Jesus’ death on behalf of his people, affirming their unity together in him and looking forward to his coming again.
- An opportunity for believers to share what God has been doing in their life this week.
- Separate age-appropriate Bible lessons and activities for children aged 4-11.
- Tea and coffee before the service to share in each other’s lives and get to know one another better.
The following information may also be helpful:
- There is no dress code at the church and our members come in all sorts of different clothes. You can wear whatever makes you comfortable.
- We have no set or reserved seats. You can sit wherever, and with whoever, you like.
- We use the Christian Standard Bible for all public readings.
- There is no expectation for visitors to donate money to the church and no collection is taken during the service. However, if you want to give, you can do so electronically by visiting our giving page.
- Our time of communion is for those who have trusted in Jesus personally and expressed that visibly by joining a local church in membership. If you are visiting us and belong to another church at which you would normally take communion, you are welcome to join with us.
- On the first Sunday of the month, we have a shared lunch. There is no need for you to bring any food, everything will be provided. We would love for you to stay and join with us.
