4th Thursday of every month
We believe young or old – child, parent, grandparent or great grandparent – all people are precious to God. Just as we run regular activities for children, so we believe it is right to be interested in those at the other end of the age spectrum.
The bible has much to say about caring for the elderly in society. At Bethel, we are keen to make sure we are interested in older people just as the Lord is interested in them too. It is for this reason we go to Woodlands residential care home each month.
Every fourth Thursday, we go to the home and take a short service. We sing, listen to a message and spend time talking together. Many enjoy singing the songs they remember from their youth and appreciate the opportunity to talk about their lives and interests. For us, it is great to spend time with the residents, listen to their stories and share God’s love, and the good news of the gospel, with them.
